32mm and 40mm (1¼” and 1½”) hose must not be used in lengths greater than 10m.
For longer runs we suggest the use of PVC or ABS solvent weld pipework.
Buried hose
Hose must not be subjected to heavy loads such as rocks or pathways etc. Should this be necessary, we advise that the hose is protected by a pipe conduit around the affected length.
32 and 40mm (1¼” 1½”) hose laid in a trench must be bedded on and surrounded by at least
50mm (2”) 0f 10-20mm ( - ¾”) grade gravel.
Polythene must then be laid above the gravel to prevent the ingress of fine particles,
before the trench is refilled.
Suspended hose
No part of the hose must be installed without
support. We recommend the hose is supported by either a continuous channel
or totally enclosing clips , not more than 230mm (9”) apart.
