The Univolt Cavity Floor Service Box offers a flexible solution which meets the requirements of
today's market. The standard 3 compartment box has the facility to be converted to a
4 compartment box without the need for any special tooling, by simply repositioning the
2 interchangeable steel dividers and adding the spare divider provided.
The basic Cavity Floor box is manufactured from pre galvanised sheet steel in accordance with
BS EN10142 and comes complete with 2 Quick Lock fixings which enable a safe and speedy
installation by clamping the base unit to the underside of the floor tile. The basic box has 20 mm
and 25 mm knockouts punched into each compartment for flexible conduit connection, 3 pieces of
slot in metal divider and a brass earth terminal in the outer power compartment.
The Cavity Floor Box frame is manufactured from flame retardant light grey ABS Plastic which
gives a durable high impact finish. The frame comes complete with 2 cable guides which ensures
that the cables are guided through the grommets in the hinged trap.
The Cavity Floor Box hinged trap is also manufactured from flame retardant light grey ABS Plastic
which is reinforced with a 3 mm thick pre galvanised steel infill plate. The hinged trap can only be
opened to maximum of 85 degrees which ensures that the trap can never be left in the open
position. The hinged trap allows for a 6 mm finished floor recess and is complete with 2 hinged
cable outlet grommets and a stainless steel lifting handle.
The cable outlet grommets can be locked flush when the box is not in use or
locked in the upright position to protect the cables when the box is in use.
Sponge inserts protect the cables when in use and also prevent the ingress of dust.
A range of steel outlet plates suitable for power, voice and data are available from stock .
All plates are supplied with an epoxy powder coated finish and ready to accept
the appropriate wiring accessory (sold separately
