COLOUR CODING:

Pairs are Red, Black and individually numbered.

Alternative colour coding is available on request.

Cables in this range can also be supplied with steel wire armour protection.
Single pair Firetuf cables are also available. For technical details, refer to the multicore solid or stranded data tables above.

Screening

The use of helical aluminium tape closely wrapped around the insulating cores gives improved screening, resulting in improved security from external interference, as indicated by testing to IEC 801-6 (DRAFT) 1990, Direct Voltage Injection Method.

Over the frequency range 1-100MHz, attenuation improvement of 30-35dB is achieved over unscreened cable.

Capacitance

Firetuf cables have a much lower core to core and core to screen
capacitance than other conventional fire resistant cables.

The growth of systems allowing longer cable runs makes Firetuf ideal
for fire alarm circuits where low capacitance is vital. Typical mutual
and earth capacitance figures for each conductor size are as follows:

Phase Conductor CSA (mm2)
Capacitance Core-Core (pF/metre)
Capacitance Core-Screen (pF/metre)
