2.1 - Introduction

The first three parts of the Regulations lay
the foundations for more detailed work later.

Part 1 Scope, object and fundamental requirements for safety applies to all installations and sets out their purposes as well as their status.
Part 2 Definitions details the precise meanings of terms used.
Part 3 Assessment of general characteristics is concerned with making sure that the installation will be fit for its intended purposes under all circumstances. The assessment must be made before the detailed installation design is started.
