2.2.3 -  New inventions or methods

The Regulations indicate clearly that it is intended that only systems and equipment's covered by the Regulations should he used. However, in the event of new inventions or methods being applied, these should give at least the same degree of safety as older methods which comply directly.

Where such new equipment's or methods are used, they should be noted on the Electrical Installation Certificate (see {8.8.2}) as not complying directly with the requirements of the Regulations.
