Hager has improved its Commercial RCBO range to make it easier for installers and specifiers to use. The new design simplifies testing of final distribution circuits and allows an insulation resistance test to be conducted without disconnecting the RCBO.
In addition, when the RCBO is in the 'off' position, the 500V DC test can be undertaken without causing damage to the RCBO.

The ADB9 range of RCBOs aids compliance with BS 7671 (latest edition), where additional protection by means of a 30mA RCD is required. Featuring a 2P switched neutral design and bi-directional functionality, is well adapted for micro-generation applications, where a Type A RCBO may be required.
Insulation resistance testing (IR test) can be carried out at 500V DC on the load side terminals with the device in the off position, without the need to disconnect the Line or Neutral conductors.

RCBO-AFD in 1 module is a single device consisting of a miniature circuit breaker (MCB) unit and residual current detection (RCD) unit with an integrated Arc fault detection (AFD) unit.
Following the publication of Amendment 2 of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulation on 28th March 2022, the use of Arc Fault Detection Devices (AFDD) have been made mandatory use in certain types of installations:
- Higher Risk Residential Buildings (HRRB)
- Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO)
- Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA)
- Care homes
The AFDD mitigates the risk of a fire in the final electrical circuits of a fixed installation due to arcing fault currents, which under certain conditions present a fire ignition risk due to dangerous arc fault.
